Missed last week on account of being in London. Kinda apt i suppose. I didn’t think we would but we do miss ol’ blighty. Had a great weekend just catching up with peoples and eating tapas. yummo.
Never managed to find the time to do a proper design for this site which has been in a sorry state for a while. Wasn’t difficult but a little time consuming setting up this port of a WP theme Manji, gave me something to do from my sickbed today though. Nicely implemented for Textpattern, will have to tweak to my liking but its a start!
WordPress has a well implemented theme feature and a more active number of options for us design impaired. I might have to look into it again could be a pain migrating from TXP, I’m still waiting for Textpattern 1.0 to be finally be released…
Sorry for the dodgy layout and all, I’m still working out Textpattern and Textile. So why Textpattern? honestly I’m not too sure. After playing with this and WordPress despite initial hostilities, Textpattern felt more comfortable. Its flexible with the management and manipulation of content (not that this will really get put to much use) and most importantly I like the interface. Oh and its also open source.
I’m also having a few issues with the creative who was commisioned to do some design work for me… that and mostly getting my arse into gear to finish my undesign. A few posts don’t seem to have made it across but otherwise migration was pretty smooth.
And whats with the domain name? I registered it so long ago I can’t remember the significance anymore. Maybe it was just all the gawdang Grand Funk Railroad I been listening too then…
holy crappola, where’s the grey?!? yes it was time to flex some css for the long overdue (and months in the works due to apathy) makeover. Let me know if it looks wacky under Mac OS/Linux/Unix. Don’t plan many further changes hoping to move to a proper host rather soon… and migrating to Textpattern or WordPress.
