Just got home from seeing Moodymann, seriously good fun and great track selection. He engaged in a lot of MCing he was very cheeky, even taking requests (book this guy for your next wedding, party or function ;P). The selection was more schizophrenic than eclectic, loads of soul, disco, jazzy deep stuff, rnb, P-Funk and Prince in random order almost feeling like it was a radio show (and he had a very radio friendly voice).
Someone asked for something from Detroit so he played the White Stripes, Seven Nation Army and it was funny to later see all these big guys crooning to Fleetwood Mac – Dreams (so Mix 106.5!) and you’d get regular commentary through his set (but not in an annoying drumnbass mc way). He dropped a track off the new Pirahna Head album on Mahogani, totally killed the dancefloor (reminder to self to pick this up). There were a stupid number of tall people (a wall of over 6ft tall guys were huddled around the decks) all boozy and swaying all over the place making for uncomfortable action on the tiny dancefloor… almost ruined the night. Theo Parrish in two weeks time, looking forward to that one too (and hoping Sam’s back isn’t in a bad way like tonight)!

they must have been foreigners or those royal/aristocratic types that linger around sloane square….. English guys are short!
how many “hurrah henry’s” do you see getting down in a place like plastic people?! these guys didn’t look quite inbred enough to be aristocrats
there were a few foreigners (and an alarming number of Scottish accents too), low ceiling aside i felt like an ever bigger short ass than i usually do!
well the scots are tall!!
